Martin Vasey
Chief Executive Officer
Martin Vasey is co-founder and CEO of Jova Solutions. Martin is responsible for the firm’s manufacturing automation consulting business, and the development of the EMWorks product and hardware product development.
Martin’s background is in networked and web applications, imaging systems, and test and measurement instrumentation and devices. Martin specializes in applications that analyze and report complex and underutilized laboratory and manufacturing data for decision makers.
Prior to co-founding Jova Solutions, Martin ran a successful consulting business working with a variety of San Francisco Bay Area manufacturers. His 15 years of experience in developing technologies spans medical engineering, electronic manufacturing, biotechnology, telecommunications, and networking. Martin led the development of the first Virtual Factory Web System for 2Wire Inc., and solved a difficult data interaction challenge between Cisco's EDI system and the Flextronics BAAN ERP. Martin has demonstrated visionary capability in online application development building the music industry's first on line pay-per-track distribution channel, and an image server/e-commerce solution for the photography industry. Martin holds two Bachelor of Science degrees, in Physics and in Mathematics, from the University of Oregon.

Andrew Johnson
President
Andrew Johnson is co-founder and President of Jova Solutions. Andrew led the development of Jova Solutions core process control and data management platform and its flagship software solution, FermWorks.
Andrew specializes in data and control systems for biotechnology with particular expertise in the life sciences and biotechnology industries. He has built diagnostics programs for DNA sequencers and process control applications, such as fermentation monitoring and control systems that enhance productivity in laboratory environments. He has licensed DNA synthesis control software to Stanford University, Genomic Solutions, and other parties. He has provided extensive support for the University of California at Berkeley Integrated Biology and Chemistry departments.
Prior to co-founding Jova Solutions, Andrew ran a successful consulting company, working with many of the top biotechnology companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, improving their process control and monitoring systems. Andrew received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Francisco State University in 1992.

Meg Kay
Director, Process Control Products
Meg Kay has served as Director of Software Products at Jova Solutions since 2001. She has been developing software systems for process control, factory automation, chemical analysis, and general instrumentation since 1982. Her specialty is designing intuitive human interfaces for complex systems. She worked with Honeywell to develop monitoring and control systems for continuous sheet production. She also worked at National Instruments (NI) for several years developing LabVIEW, a graphical programming environment, and drivers for data acquisition hardware.
Prior to NI, Meg developed systems for chemical analysis, such as titration, reaction calorimetry, thermal analysis, and chromatography at Mettler-Toledo in Switzerland and at Microsensor Technology in California. She got her start at Hewlett-Packard in instrumentation and manufacturing automation. Meg received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of California at San Diego.
