Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Companies and Educational Partners Can Now Garner the Benefits of Bioreactor Experiment Automation -- Removing their Scale-up Limits and Improving Data Management.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, April 02, 2002
Jova Solutions, a premier provider of laboratory fermentation control software, announced today that it has released the Beta version of FermWorks, an evolution of the highly-regarded software already developed by Jova Solutions to monitor and control cell culture and bacterial bioreactors. FermWorks allows companies and researchers to rapidly scale the size, frequency and accuracy of bioreactor experiments, and boasts an array of new features that will further benefit laboratory researchers.
FermWorks allows laboratory technicians to monitor and control an entire network of bioreactors, thus dramatically increasing the scale at which a laboratory can operate, without increasing the number of staff. As there is no limit to the number of bioreactor/computer combinations that can be controlled, FermWorks offers researchers the ability to manage groups of bioreactors in a single experiment, and apply a recipe to any bioreactor or to the entire experiment. The FermWorks application is designed for central storage of all process and configuration data, with satellite storage of process data enabled as insurance against server failure.
The first release of the FermWorks Beta is being installed and tested at Genentech's South San Francisco R&D facility.
