Jova Solutions Announces 3D Factory Floor Interface for Control of Global Manufacturing Facilities

Technicians and Managers Can Now Access Factory Floor Operations Via an Online Virtual Interface To Monitoring and Control Instruments and Processes.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, February 1, 2001

Jova Solutions, an emerging provider of industrial automation and data networking software, today announced a 3D interface for its data acquisition and industrial automation tools. The product is currently running in beta at home networking hardware provider 2Wire with completion schedule for May 30, 2001. The technology allows remote managers to have imimageste access to critical information and the ability to control instruments and processes in any factory without leaving their desk.

The platform recreates a company’s global manufacturing facilities, providing a 3D representation of the unique environments of each facility. Housed in these virtual factories are representations of production equipment and testers that connect in real-time to actual factory settings. Technicians will be able to interact online with testers and equipment for production monitoring and quality control purposes and view multiple testers and processes simultaneously. Also included in the online environment will be a virtual auditorium that can transport the technician to any manufacturing facility worldwide. The environment will also feature virtual avatars of company workers, with real-time interaction in virtual conference areas, streaming video, e-mail and instant messaging. "Today’s global manufacturing industries are highly competitive and in order to be more productive managers and workers need deep visibility into and control of factory-floor processes," said Martin Vasey, CEO and Chief Manufacturing Architect. "The addition of this functionality is just another step to achieving our goal of putting our clients in total control of their manufacturing environments."
