Image Sensor Lab is a sensor evaluation kit that includes powerful image analysis software and the ISL-1600 interface electronics, a small desktop device measuring 6.3” by 9.5” by3.1”. The interface provides I2C image sensor communications, flexible frame capture, up to 5 built in image sensor power supplies, and connection via USB 2.0 High Speed to a host computer.

Image Sensor Lab's software for research and development is the comprehensive image analysis solution for thorough evaluation and testing of image sensors. Features include high resolution image capture, storage functionality, graph and 3D displays, advanced image analysis, and an extensive suite of device characterization tests. Image Sensor Lab also supports Bayer image acquisition, processing and analysis.

Support for wide variety of CMOS image sensors

The ISL-1600 interfaces with CMOS image sensors from popular vendors such as Micron, OmniVision, Toshiba, and more. The ISL-1600 was designed as a universal image sensor interface. Its built-in, programmable, ultra-low noise power supplies, can be used as image sensor power sources. I2C register reading and writing is provided as is an I2C scripting subsystem. Several channels of additional digital inputs and outputs support image sensor static control and status lines such as RESET, CAPTURE, STROBE, and others.
     

 

 

Powerful and Flexible Sensor Image Data Interpretation

Image Sensor Lab accommodates a wide variety of image sensor data output formats and encodings. The ISL-1600 captures up to 16-bit wide data into a 16 megaword onboard memory buffer. Image Sensor Lab application software provides configurable conversion and mapping from the raw sensor data to the images used for display and processing. This allows support for a wide variety of CMOS image sensors from a variety of manufacturers.

Image Sensor Lab's digital imaging software features a suite of advanced analysis and characterization tests for thorough evaluation of image sensor performance.
