Optional PCI Express External Interface

For high-speed applications or projects using high megapixel imaging devices, an optional PCI Express interface is available.

• PCI Express over PCI-SIG–compliant design and cabling for fastest image transfer available
• Almost 10X performance improvement over USB 2.0 HS
• A PCI-SIG compliant design, even over cable, insures a robust design methodology, easy future migration, and a native, PCI Express peripheral.  The ISL-3200 with PCI Express appears to the PC to be a local PCI Express device.
  • Required card for PC is simple adapter board with standard PCI Express re-driver, and is available from several different vendors or through Jova Solutions.
  • Required cables are standard, off the shelf designs from Molex, ratified by PCI-SIG, and available in lengths from 1 to 5 meters from many distributors.
•  Movement of data stream from PCI Express into system memory is completely DMA with virtually no processor overhead.
